April 10th FA Cup Semi Final - TV

I'm still trying to confirm the television information for the 10 April 2010 match between Villa and Chelsea (FA Cup semi final @ Wembley).  The "Live Soccer TV" website didn't provide much detail.  I did check Fox Soccer Channel's website and it did show that FSC would be broadcasting the match "live".  I will keep an eye on this over the coming days to provide as accurate information as I can for our members.  Our plans are still to have gatherings at both The Olde Ship in Santa Ana and Kezar Pub in San Francisco to view the game together.

The oldest knockout club tournament in the world, the FA Cup began in 1872 & is open to professional & semi-professional teams from all English divisions. Part-time footballers are matched up against Premier League clubs in true David vs. Goliath battles.

AVFC California - Aston Villa News and Record

"Aston Villa News & Record" is the official match program sold at Villa Park for every home match. The News & Record has a supporters club section in every issue. AVFC California was honored to be mentioned in the News & Record for the 20th March 2010 Premier League match versus Wolverhampton, including the photo of a few of us at the Kezar Pub for the Carling Cup Final.
"CALIFORNIA DREAMING

Living on America's West Coast may sound perfect, but it has its disadvantages, particularly if you are a Villa supporter. Rick Leong has come up with the answer, though, by forming the California Lions.

Rick (second right) is pictured at Kezar Pub in San Francisco with club members Simon Amos and Ian Westmoreland - plus their pub hostess Leanne. the club also cater for Villa fans in southern California by holding meetings in Santa Ana."

Arrrrrrrrgh! Another Draw.

Our Villa b oys fought hard, but today's scoreless draw vs Stoke City is not what we needed. We need some victories and 3 point results to have a chance to still take the 4th place spot in the table. Tottenham won and strengthened their hold on the 4th position (6 points ahead of Villa, though Villa has 2 games in hand)

AVFC California Represented

AVFC California member Mark S. represented AVFC California for the League cup final at Wembley. Mark visited family and friends while there and then took in the final. He sent in this photo and here are a few remarks from his email:

"Wembley is a fantastic stadium - easily the best I've ever been in - I don't think there is a bad seat in the place - it puts the old ground to shame, Villa fans seem to get there much earlier then Man. U. fans - I think it was a little old hat for the Man U. fans and all the Villa were clearly enjoying the day out. Shame about the result - I felt sorry for some of the little kids near me who were all in tears, I heard a lot of people saying - it'll be alright we'll be back here this season for the Semi's and the final of the FA cup. Man. U. fans after the game wished us well in the league but they admitted it was mostly because they didn't want t Liverpool or man. City getting the last spot."

Thanks Mark and UTV!
