Thanks Brad!

The word is out that Brad Friedel has signed with Tottenham Hotspurs for 2-years (free transfer).  He leaves Villa with a record 275 consecutive Premiership matches.  He had a great run at the Villa and will be missed by many.  Prior to Villa he played at Blackburn and before that Liverpool.

Darren Bent scores the equalizer before halftime to help Villa gain a point versus Stoke City.  Brad Friedel had several great saves to keep Stoke from scoring a second time.

Oh Where Oh Where Did Our Defense Go, Oh Where Oh Where Can It Be?

After Rooney scored the first goal (Van De Sar's loooooooong full-pitch pass), it seemed like Villa took a huge left hook in the first round and never recovered. Brad Friedel had some amazing saves that helped keep the score somewhat close.  Final was 3-1 United.

Villa Battles to a Draw with Man United

Despite many turnovers, Aston Villa battled the reigning champions to a 1-1 draw. My man of the match - Brad Friedel. Without him in net, we may not have earned our 1 point. One of the few matches shown live in the U.S. (Fox Soccer Channel), I did not get to see it until tonight (2 days late). But I was able to avoid finding about the result so I could watch the match "as if it were live".
