This appointment pleases me.
ReplyDeleteI thought everyone else previously mentioned were less-than-desirable, especially Maradona.
I agree. Looking forward to having the team being able to "be a team" rather than waiting for a decision on a manger. Finally ready to settle down and focus on the season. Grateful for the 2 wins during the chaos.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't catogarize the situation as "chaos" I think KMac did a fine job of holding the fort .The loss to Newcastle was horrible but in terms of Stoke : remember we lost to "lesser" teams far too often under MON ( admittedly more so towards the end of the season due to his inflexible team selection

The poor start to the season might be more about selling our best player and not replacing him when all our immediate rivals ,except Everton were investing .
Having said that , Randy Lerner could never compete with the obscene amount of money being thrown into Man City and in the long term I'd rather have a solvent mid table Villa than than a club who've gone the way of Portsmouth ( who I hate . so screw them ) or Leeds ( Proud history and I feel bad , but they're coming back !)
What would be great is if Gerard Houllier brought a sense of style to Villa similar to Arsene Wenger's Arsenal .
After all , if you're not going to win sh*t , at least play football that's fantastic to watch !
