Coverage of Carling Cup Quarter-Finals between Villa and Portsmouth

I am trying to nail down what is available for tomorrow's Carling Cup match. AVTV is offering live audio coverage for free (Jack Woodward). Go to http://www.avfc.co.uk/ for details. So far, it appears there is no US tv coverage. I am going to check around for any online streaming sources.

Draw with Tottenham

A win today would have moved Villa into the "top 4", but Tottenham got the equalizer in the 77'. Emile Heskey almost scored the goal of the year with his header - from his knees and facing away from the goal. It would have been a dream ending... but instead Villa only got 1 point at the end of the day.

AVTV

"AVTV" is offered to fans on the club's official website (https://secure-avfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/secure/loginOrBuy/0,,10265,00.html?schemeAndHost=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.avfc.co.uk)

The cost for this service is £3.99 per month or £34.99 fro 12-months and you receive the:

  • Exclusive News
  • Exclusive Match Highlights
  • Live Commentary & Stats
  • Searchable Video Archive
  • Complete Match Live Console
Unfortunately, "live" broadcast of matches is only audio commentary - no streaming video (although, Jack Woodward is alot of fun to listen to as he describes the action). I would love to hear from other supporters that do have an AVTV subscription and find out what they think of the service.

What is available to supporters without cost? "Villa Live" is available online (http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/VillaLive/0,,10265,00.html where you can follow a match in real-time via a "chat" format where you not only get live updates of what is transpiring on the pitch, but you can also interact with others following the feed.

Great stuff all the way around. UP THE VILLA!

Run Forest, Run!

I keep hearing that Mr. Tom Hanks is a Villa supporter. I actually went to the same high school as Mr. Hanks (Oakland, CA USA), but he graduated a few years ahead of me. It sure would be great to have Mr. Hanks on our rolls as a member of AVFC California. If you are out there Mr. Hanks, send us an email at avfc.california@gmail.com and join us!
